Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 12, 2025
At PizzaPizza, we believe privacy shouldn't be complicated. This policy explains how we handle your information when you book our mobile cooking services. We're committed to protecting your data and being transparent about our practices.
1 Information We Collect
When you book our mobile cooking service, we need certain information to deliver your experience. We collect what we need and nothing more.
Booking Information
This includes your name, phone number, email address, delivery location, and event details. We ask for dietary preferences and restrictions because that's pretty important when we're making your food. Payment information goes through our secure processor — we never store your full card details on our servers.
Service Interaction Data
We keep records of our conversations with you — whether by phone, email, or text. If you leave feedback or reviews, we store those too. This helps us improve and remember your preferences for future orders.
Technical Information
Our website collects basic technical data like your IP address, browser type, and device information. We use cookies to remember your preferences and keep you logged in. You can disable cookies, but some features might not work as smoothly.
2 How We Use Your Information
We use your data to run our business and serve you better. Here's what that actually means in practice.
- Processing and fulfilling your orders — obviously we need your address to show up at the right place
- Communicating about your booking, including confirmations and updates if something changes
- Remembering your dietary preferences so you don't have to tell us every single time
- Improving our menu and service based on feedback and popular choices
- Sending occasional updates about new menu items or special offers (you can opt out anytime)
- Handling any issues or complaints in a way that actually resolves them
- Meeting legal obligations like food safety reporting and tax requirements
We don't sell your information to third parties. That's not our business model, and frankly, it's not how we want to operate.
3 Data Sharing and Disclosure
Sometimes we need to share your information with others to provide our service. Here's who we work with and why.
Service Partners: Our payment processor handles transactions securely. They're bound by strict security standards (PCI-DSS compliance). We also work with delivery logistics partners for location routing — they only see what's necessary to complete the service.
If we're required by Canadian law or a valid legal request, we'll disclose information to authorities. We'll notify you about these requests unless we're legally prevented from doing so.
In the unlikely event PizzaPizza is acquired or merged with another company, your data would transfer as part of that transaction. We'd notify you beforehand and inform you of any changes to how your information is handled.
4 Your Privacy Rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you have specific rights regarding your personal information. These aren't just theoretical — we actually honor them.
Access Your Data
Request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 30 days.
Correct Inaccuracies
If something's wrong in your profile or order history, let us know and we'll fix it promptly.
Delete Your Account
Request deletion of your account and associated data. We'll remove everything except what we're legally required to keep.
Withdraw Consent
Opt out of marketing communications or withdraw consent for non-essential data processing anytime.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@pizzaspizza.top with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we handle your request, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
5 Data Security and Protection
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Our website uses SSL encryption for data transmission. Our databases are password-protected and access is limited to employees who need it to do their jobs.
That said, no system is completely secure. We do our best with industry-standard security measures, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
We regularly review and update our security practices. Our team receives training on data protection, and we work with security professionals to identify and address vulnerabilities.
6 Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as you're an active customer and for a reasonable period afterward. Order history and transaction records are retained for seven years to comply with Canadian tax and accounting requirements.
Marketing preferences and communication records are kept until you ask us to delete them. If you haven't booked with us in three years, we'll send you a reminder asking if you want to keep your account active. No response means we'll delete non-essential data while keeping basic records for legal compliance.
When we delete data, we actually delete it — we don't just mark it as inactive. Backups may retain data for up to 90 days before being overwritten, but these are securely stored and not accessible for normal operations.
7 Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies to function properly and improve your experience. Essential cookies keep you logged in and remember your cart contents. Analytics cookies help us understand which pages people visit and where they run into problems.
We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking for behavioral advertising. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies might affect site functionality.
We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. This gives us general usage statistics without identifying individual visitors. If you prefer not to be tracked at all, browser extensions like uBlock Origin will prevent this.
8 Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults booking events. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 without parental consent. If you're booking for a children's party, you as the adult are providing the information and are responsible for any data shared.
If we discover we've inadvertently collected data from a child, we'll delete it promptly. Parents who believe their child's information has been collected can contact us to request removal.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify active customers by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
We'll give you reasonable notice before any changes take effect. If you disagree with the updated policy, you can close your account before the changes become binding. Continuing to use our services after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
